How does it all work?
Joining and using The Book Swap could not be easier.
Simply fill out the Join Now form.
Choose your membership plan. Bronze is FREE and Silver or Gold come with some great benefits for a small fee.
Next upload your books, using ISBN, Keyword, Title or Author. (There is no hassle in taking photos and uploading them with your book details because The Book Swap will do that for you automatically.)
Once your initial book requirements are uploaded - *Bronze =3 books Silver = 2 books Gold = 1 book (*please note this point plan is only for your first uploads to ensure we have enough books to run the site) you will receive your first point. Browse our library and start swapping.
Find the book you want and click SWAP. The current owner of the book will send it on. (At their cost)
Your point will be given to them
If you need more points just upload extra books to earn them. (Book RRP – less than $20 = one point $21 – $40 = two points $40 plus is three points or you have the option to sell that book for a price you choose.)
Once someone requests one of your books you need to send it on. (At your cost)

What extras do I get if I buy a Silver or Gold membership?
Silver members only need to upload two books to get their first free point and Gold members simply add one book. Silver members only need to upload two books to get their first free point and Gold members simply add one book.
You also receive VIP newsletters with special offers, competitions and exclusive deals. As we build partnerships with other companies you get more.

How many points is my book worth and when do I get them?
Once you have uploaded your initial three swaps for one point, you divert to the Book Swap Point Plan where our site automatically values your book using the current ISBN software. You ONLY get your new points when someone requests your book.
Values
Up to $20 – you receive ONE point
$20 - $40 – you receive TWO points
$40 plus – you receive THREE points or you have the option to sell your book for a price you decide.

Can I sell a book?
Yes but only if the ISBN software values it at over $40.
How do I know if they will send me the book I requested?
The Book Swap works on trust. If people don’t stick to the rules we will remove them.

What if my book never arrives or is in poor condition?
If your book does not arrive please contact the sender to find out what has happened.
If a dispute occurs please contact us and we will try our best to resolve any problems.

How do I upload my books?
You can use the ISBN number on the back of your book – above the barcode. Or search for title – author or keyword and upload it that way.

What if my book does not have an ISBN or the ISBN is not found?
You can upload the book by clicking no ISBN, This enables you to enter the details in yourself.

What if I paid more for my book than the ISBN software says?
Our software averages all of the current prices for your book on sale.

Why do I have to upload more books to start with but only receive one point?
This is to ensure we always have a great selection of books for our members to choose from.

What if I am going away?
You can suspend your books for up to 30 days if you are not going to be able to respond to swaps for a while.

The software didnt find an image what can I do?

You can upload your own image from the net. Its very quick and easy to do. Just search for your books and save that image then upload it. Books with images swap faster.
